Land Rover’s release of the Range Rover Evoque proved out to be a great success for the company with over 400,000 units having found a home after its sales that began in 2011. After the undisputed success of Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover recently revealed the 2016 model for Range Rover Evoque with several new updates that will make its world debut at Geneva Motor Show 2015. The major change in the 2016 model of Evoque is the new Ingenium engine setup.
Not messing up with the style statement of Evoque that is probably one of the strongest selling points of the vehicle. The automakers have made minimal changes to the visuals and have majorly focused on technological changes. However, the 2016 model comprises of the few changes in regard of its looks. These changes include a new grille, full LED headlights, new front bumper, new spoiler and new wheel patterns.
Door casings, new seats, new infotainment system accompanied by an 8 inch touch screen display and the new trim options are few changes with regard to the interior of the car. The infotainment system is a latest InControl system that features easy to browse apps and menus, enabling the users to seamlessly swipe between screens similar to smartphones. Some additional features present in the 2016 variant include a massage feature for the front seats.
One of the major changes in 2016 variant is that it now offers the choice of two different 2.0 liter Ingenium turbo diesel engine, one of which offers 148 horsepower and the other one offers 177 horsepower. The 148 horsepower engine lineup delivers a fuel efficiency of 4.2 liters/ 100kms and 109g/ km CO2 emission. On the other hand the 177 horsepower engine delivers a fuel economy of 4.8 litres/ 100 km and 125g/ km CO2 emission. With regard to the fuel efficiency rate, the 148 horsepower engine lineup is 18% more fuel efficient in comparison to the previous engines.
With the launch of 2016 model of Evoque, the company also plans to introduce a new E- Capability badge. You can find this applied to the most fuel- efficient models, so in case of Evoque it can be found on the front- wheel drive variant accompanied with the diesel engine. The Electronic driver assistance for the 2016 variant is inclusive of the All- Terrain Progress Control that enables the vehicle to move at a steady speed when it negotiates the tricky terrain thus enabling the driver to completely focus on the steering. You may also notice some additional features like automatic braking, lane- keep assistance, and driver drowsiness detection system that continuously monitors the steering inputs in order to detect the risk of the driver falling asleep while driving.
